But the offer, running across all UK and Ireland restaurants, is only valid between July 31 and August 6 so you’ll need to be quick.

Under the deal, foodies who spend £7 or more will receive two “Chillies” instead of one on their Nando’s Rewards card.

Customers who build up enough Chillies can then redeem them for free food.

This is how many Chillies you need to claim a free item and what you can get:

Restaurant you've never heard of that's 'better than Nando's' - and it's cheaper
Nandos is adding new items TODAY in menu shake up
  • Three Chillies – a free ¼ chicken, 3 wings, or starter
  • Six Chillies – a free ½ chicken, single burger, pitta or wrap
  • Ten Chillies – A free whole chicken, meal with regular sides or a salad or bowl

That means if you buy two meals worth £7 or more while the offer is running, you will have enough Chillies to nab yourself a free side.

Meanwhile, three meals worth £7 or more is enough for you to claim a free half chicken, single burger or pitta or wrap.

Anyone without a Nando’s Rewards card can sign up for one on the chain’s website.

How else to save money at Nando’s

There are some nifty ways you can save money on your next visit to Nando’s.

If you’re a group that’s big enough, try buying a combined meal instead or ordering separately.

Research by moneysavingexpert.com found you can save up to £10 opting for platters rather than individual meals.

For example, if you’re ordering two whole chickens and five large sides, it’ll cost you £60.05 if you’re buying the items separately.

But if you go for the “Family Platter” instead, you’ll pay £49.95 – £10.10 less.

Meanwhile, if you’re a fan of Perinaise, you could save some cash by making your own.

A pot of the sauce costs £1.15 and is in essence just a mixture of mayonnaise and Peri Peri sauce.

But you can ask for a free portion of mayo at the counter and then stir in your Peri Peri sauce of choice from the condiments bar.
