NANDO’S has announced a major shake-up to its menu – and an old favourite is returning.

The restaurant chain is bringing back its popular butterfly burger, which will return with a new ingredient – Peri Ketchup.

Nando’s took the butterfly burger off its menu in the first Covid-19 lockdown.

But fans can once again took into the menu favourite, which is priced at £10.25 if you order it on its own.

You can get the burger with one regular side for £12.90, or with two sides for £15.10.

The new menu also features a special new PERi-PERi spice, created by the winning contestant of BBC Three’s Hungry For It.

Nando’s new creamy Pimenta baste is available for a limited time only and sits between mild and medium on the ‘PERi-ometer’.

Customers can add spices to their order for no extra cost.

The Sun has asked Nando’s if it has taken anything off its menu to make way for the return of the butterfly chicken burger, and will update the article soon.

In April, Nando’s announced it is to scrap one of its popular bottomless drinks options.

Customers can currently pay between £3.25 and £3.45 to get unlimited top ups of fizzy drinks including Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite Zero.

But from October, diners will no longer be able to get free refills of classic Coca-Cola.

How can I save money at Nando’s?

From ordering family platters to coming prepared with gift cards, you can keep more of your well-earned cash in your pocket at the restaurant.

If you are a Costco member, you can buy £40 worth of gift cards for £34.99 to use at Nando’s – which means you’re saving yourself just over £5.

Ordering a platter can help you to save £10.

The Family Platter at Nando’s costs £46.50 and feeds up to six people, including two whole chickens and five large sides.

Budget buster Charlotte Jessop, who runs the money saving blog  Looking After Your Pennies, says she saves £10.45 doing this instead of ordering individual meals for her and her family.

Tubs of “Perinaise”  will set you back 65p at the restaurant – and as it’s likely that you’ll order at least two, the extra cost all adds up.

But you can avoid forking out extra by making your own version in the restaurant.

One Nando’s fan has revealed that by adding medium sauce to a few sachets of mayo, which you’ll usually find by the cutlery, you’ll end up with something that tastes pretty similar.
