M&S launches new ‘cute’ Colin the Caterpillar style Easter treat and shoppers are going wild

MARKS and Spencer shoppers are going wild over a brand new treat launched just in time for Easter.

The retail giant has introduced a new Colin the Caterpillar-style Easter cake to make the festivities more fun.

If you grew up in the 90s and 00s, Colin the Caterpillar was probably an essential part of your childhood.

First seen on shelves in 1990, the classic M&S character has gained a huge fan base and his iconic chocolate cake has become a staple of kids’ birthday parties.

And now after its huge success, the retailer has launched a new character called Easter Lamb to “share the limelight” with Colin.

M&S said in a statement: “This year, Colin is sharing the limelight with his new friend, Easter Lamb.

“This adorable pair are guaranteed to steal the show.

“Tuck into not one, but two, creamy, extremely chocolatey sponges doused in decadent chocolate and topped with Easter decorations, including an Easter nest.”

With Easter due in just a few days, the new treat has already hit the shelves of the supermarket.

And excited customers have started sharing their excitement over the internet.

One fan said: “We will be having these for sure!”

Another wrote: “A Colin for literally all occasions.”

A third shared: “The lamb is so cute.”

Along with the new cake comes the Colin the Caterpillar Bum Bag with delicious treats filled inside.

Priced at £7, Each pouch will contain six milk chocolate eggs and a mini bag of Colin white chocolate faces.

There is also the Percy Pig Bum Bag with six milk chocolate eggs and a mini bag of Percy Piglets.

It comes after Home Bargains fans rushed to grab “rare” discontinued chocolates selling for dirt-cheap prices.

The supermarket giant has been selling the rare Kitkat pops at just 39p.

While the packaging says the chocolate is new, it was originally introduced in 2022 – and Nestle soon stopped producing the yummy treats.

Treat lovers, however, have now found them selling at Home Bargains for a steal deal.

One lucky shopper snapped up the deal today and rushed to social media to brag about their purchase. 

They wrote: “Fairly sure these have been out before even though the label states they’re new. But still a rare find, and at that price I couldn’t say no.”

Meanwhile, Rowntree’s launched a new treat in time for Easter and fans are rushing to Morrisons to stock up.

The retail giant has given it a different twist by including a sharing bag of their Randoms sweets.

With Easter coming in just a few days, major retailers are locked in a price war and are slashing the price of Easter eggs.

An expert has revealed the exact day you need to buy your Easter eggs to get the best value.

And this week there’s a host of supermarkets and chains offering eggs for less after Asda stopped stocking them for 60p.

We’ve scoured the shelves to find the least expensive place to buy Cadbury, Lindt and Nestle eggs so you don’t have to.

Prices can also vary day-to-day and supermarkets can choose to put certain items on offer.

In other news, Cadbury is giving away a “free” Cadbury Easter egg for £12.

Plus, a new Terry’s Chocolate Orange flavour that “tastes better than the original” has shoppers buzzing.

Easter egg hunt

WITH Easter fast approaching, there isn’t long left to grab a bargain on your favourite chocolate.

Retailers have been battling it out to offer the best deals on the sweet treats since the start of the year.

Tesco has slashed the cost of 22 of its extra large Easter eggs including many Cadbury varieties.

For example, Clubcard customers can snap up a 232g Cadbury Dairy Milk Twirl Easter Egg for £3.50.

But if you’re not signed up for the loyalty scheme, you’ll have to pay a fiver.

A number of Easter Eggs at Asda were reduced to 60p from original prices of £1.25 and £1.50.

Despite Asda axing its deal offering 60p eggs on March 10, it’s still the cheapest place to buy a 96g Freddo Easter egg.

It comes with a small egg and selection of iconic Freddo chocolates inside and is on sale for £1.25.

Asda is selling a 190g KitKat Chunky egg box for £3, the same as Tesco and Ocado.

Meanwhile, Morrisons and Iceland are the next cheapest option, selling it for £3.25 and £3.50 respectively.

Elsewhere, Sainsbury’s has various reductions on Easter eggs for Nectar card shoppers.

This includes a 195g large Lindt Easter egg with a salted caramel gold bunny selling for £9 with a Nectar card, and £11 without.

Morrisons are also offering reductions and special bundles on Easter eggs and treats.
