LOYAL Marks and Spencer shoppers are being offered free hot cross buns to get them in the mood for Easter.

Users of the M&S Sparks loyalty scheme have started to see the offer appear in their accounts this week but some are disappointed to have missed out.

The M&S Sparks card has more than 15million users.

It was revamped in 2020 so that rather than collecting points for money off products, customers can now get instant rewards.

Users have in the past reported receiving free packs of Percy Pigs and some have even had their shopping paid for.

Freebies and discounts are added to the “new offers” tab in your Sparks account.

The latest freebie on offer to shoppers appears to be a pack of four hot cross buns.

That is a well-timed treat in time for Easter.

The perk was revealed on the HotUKDeals website this week.

A user said: “I just checked my Sparks card offers and I picked up a pack of four large hot cross buns or you could have nine small ones completely free. Result!”

Another said they had been offered free hot cross buns, wine gums, chocolate cookies and mini eggs.

But others have been left disappointed to have missed out on the free hot cross buns.

Some reported not yet receiving anything while others have been offered free daffodils, chocolate and bread.

An M&S spokesperson told The Sun: “Offers are personalised to the individual.

“The more you shop, the more personalised your experience will be.

“Sparks will give you a reward based on your behaviour.”

The spokesperson added that it is not possible to swap offers.
