POKEMON Trading Cards have been a popular part of the franchise since its creation.

Not only will players use the card to compete but they will also collect them and be out on the hunt for the rarest of them all.

Due to this, some Pokémon cards have been sold at eye-watering prices as fans are wanting to get their hands on the most elusive of cards.

But, which ones are the most valuable and rarest?

1. 1st Edition Shadowless Charizard

Being one of the rarest Pokemon cards, the 1st Edition Shadowless Charizard card sells for a pretty penny.

The card was snapped up for $220,574 (£164,691) at Iconic Auction in October 2020 by none other than rapper, Logic.

The highest amount the card has sold for is $369,000 (£275,514). An unknow bidder won the card in December 2020 through Goldin Auctions.

It is believed the card became more valuable after Youtuber Logan Paul decided to wear the card around his neck during before fight with Floyd Mayweather in June this year.

A current listing on eBay is requesting a whooping $249,999 (£186,662) for the card.

2. Pikachu Illustrator Cards

The Pikachu Illustrator Cards were first given out in 1997 to winners of promo contests heled by Japanese magazine CoroCoro Comic.

39 cards were made in total, making them one of the rarest Pokémon cards.

The card was sold on PWCC in 2021 for $375,000 (£279,994).

3. Blastoise Wizards of the Coast Presentation Galaxy Star Hologram

Only two of these cards exist, making it one of the rarest of them all.

Not only is it the rarest but it is also one of the more valuable cards too.

Created in 1998, the Blastoise card sold for $360,000 (£268,794) via auction in January 2021.

4. Black Star Ishihara Signed GX Promo Card

A Pokémon card with the president of The Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara, on the front was sold for $247,230 (£184.594) in 2021.

The signed card is a limited addition card that was given out to employees for the president’s 60th birthday.

Auctioned at Goldin Auctions, a total of 31 bids was made on the card before the winning amount.

5. Kangaskhan-Holo #115 Family Event Trophy Card

This card earns it’s rarity for being given out at the 1998 Parent/Child Mega Battle tournament, held in Japan in 1998.

Only three of these cards have been sold.

In October 2020, the card fetched $150,100 (£112,072) at auction on PWCC.
