MORRISONS shoppers should take note of the supermarket’s opening hours over the Christmas bank holidays.

While stores are expected to be closed on Christmas Day, many will re-open on Boxing Day – but with differing hours.

Is Morrisons open over the Christmas bank holidays?

With Christmas Eve falling on Sunday this year, Morrisons will be operating their usual Sunday trading hours on December 24 – 10am-4pm.

On Christmas Day, all supermarkets will be closed in order to allow staff to enjoy time with friends and family.

However, like most other supermarkets, Morrison’s will re-open on Boxing Day but with reduced hours.

Stores will be open for trading between 9am-6pm, although this can differ from store to store based on location.

As a result, customers are urged to check their nearest branch’s opening hours using the store finder tool on the Morrisons website.

You just have to type in your town or postcode and it will show your closest store’s hours.

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day hours for Morrisons Daily and McColl’s stores may differ slightly, so shoppers are again advised to check ahead for opening times.

Opening hours for Morrisons, Morrisons Daily and McColl’s are expected to resume as normal between December 27-30.

Most supermarkets and large high street chains have store locators on their website which you can use to find the opening hours for your nearest store.

In most cases you just have to enter your postcode into the search bar and it will tell you what time that store is open and closed.

The majority are expected to operate similar opening hours over Christmas and New Year to supermarkets.

What are other supermarkets doing?

All major supermarkets will have their doors open across the festive period, but times may change.

Aldi will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year to allow its staff to spend time with friends and family.

Waitrose will also be closing all supermarkets on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Marks & Spencer have announced that they to will be shutting up shop on December 25 and December 26.

Lidl will be pulling the shutters down on all of its shops on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, while the majority will also be closed on Boxing Day.

As for Asda, they will be closing all of their superstores and Express convenience stores on Christmas Day.

However, stores will reopen on Boxing Day, although opening times will vary across the country.
