More than 30 people died when a gunman opened fire at a children’s daycare center in northeastern Thailand on Thursday, police said according to Reuters and The Associated Press.

A manhunt was underway to find the suspected shooter, who is a former police officer, police said, according to the Reuters news agency.

A spokesperson for the Thai prime minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, said all security agencies had been alerted in the attempt to catch the alleged culprit, according to Reuters.

A soldier who was angry over a property deal gone sour killed at least 29 people and wounded 57 in 2020 a rampage that spanned four locations.
