Grant Shapps says reality is that some firms will require it, as HR body warns employers against policy

A UK cabinet minister has said it is a good idea for companies to insist their employees are fully vaccinated, despite warnings the move could be legally risky and make people already hesitant less likely to get inoculated.

The transport secretary, Grant Shapps, said that although the government would not legislate to make it a requirement for all employees to get vaccinated, the reality was that some firms “will require it”.
