IT looks like Netflix is planning to remove a popular feature for those who take up the site’s new cheaper ad-supported subscription.
The Stranger Things hit-maker will soon launch a new option with ads for a cut price, in a bid to win back droves of users who have quit.
But ads might not be the only big difference you’ll notice.
You may be blocked from downloading shows and movies offline, according to a developer.
The ability to watch shows offline is a huge perk which allows people to save some of their favourites directly onto mobile devices, so they can watch them when there’s no network connection.
Expert Steve Moser dug behind Netflix’s iPhone app and found that the feature is disabled for those on the new tier, Bloomberg reports.
Netflix boss Ted Sarandos previously hinted that some privileges would have to be cut for the ad-supported plan.
Thankfully, there’s no indication that those on the three existing paid subscription types will lose the offline option.
The desperate move comes amid an exodus of almost a million subscribers.
Netflix recently lost its crown as the most popular streaming platform to Disney+ as well.

Other measures bosses are working on is a huge clampdown on password sharing.
Users are banned from sharing their account with those outside their household but Netflix has long turned a blind-eye.
Now, the site is demanding subscribers fork out extra to add members who don’t live with them.
It’s currently being tested in a handful of countries.
Netflix is expected to launch the ad-supported tier early next year.
There’s no word on how much it’ll cost just yet, though insiders have told The Sun that it could cost as little as £5.49/$7.99 in the UK and US.
