SEVERAL smartphone users have claimed a “cursed” video on YouTube is causing their devices to mysteriously crash.
Some owners of the Google Pixel say one clip on the platform forces their handset to reboot.
And no-one really knows why.
The clip in question is a 4K HDR snippet of the Alien movie.
What makes it more spooky is that people have tried on other smartphones and the video has loaded just fine.
While it only appears to affect Pixel devices, not everyones Pixel crashes.
According to comments on Reddit, some Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6A phones can’t handle the video.
“Phone crashed as soon as the YouTube app was loading up,” one person said on Reddit.
“Just attempted to play this on my pixel 7, and it crashed after less than 2 seconds. Yikes,” another added on YouTube.
Android Authority said it suffered with network connection issues for a short while after testing the dreaded clip itself.

But other than crashing and forcing a reboot, the strange anomaly doesn’t seem to cause any lasting damage.
The bizarre incident has drawn comparisons to a previous issue a few years back where a specific wallpaper crashed some Samsung smartphones.
The video can be found here – though you ought not to if you’re using one of the affected models.
Google is yet to say what it believes is the cause of the problem.
Though some have speculated that it might be to do with the way Pixels process certain colours.
