The claim will now be validated – and once successful, the Brit will become an instant multi-millionaire thanks to the draw-dropping prize.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “We’re delighted that this fantastic Lotto jackpot prize has been claimed. Our focus is now on supporting this jackpot-winning ticket-holder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win.

“This is the nineteenth Lotto jackpot winner made in 2023 to date. That’s a total of £118,850,845 which has been claimed through the 16 Lotto jackpot prizes won so far this year.

“With a few more months left in this year, there will be plenty more Lotto jackpots to be won, and many more millionaires to be made! The next Lotto draw takes place tonight (11 October), so make sure to get your tickets to be in with a chance of winning the estimated £2M jackpot and joining the 17 other Lotto jackpot winners so far from this year!”

Just last night, a whopping £34m jackpot went up for grabs through EuroMillions.

And winners have revealed how they have splashed the cash after scooping lottery prizes.

Libby Elliot won £2.1m in a lottery – spending the cash on dream holiday destinations across the world and a glam makeover.

And bus driver Peter Laverty revealed how he won £10m in 1996 – completely changing his life.

He celebrated the win through excessive drinking, partying and eating and was then told by doctors he would drink himself into an early grave if he continued with his lifestyle.

But not everyone’s lottery stories are a success – as evidenced by Dean Smethurst.
