Dame Mary Berry called this incredible property home from the age of six to fifteen.

It was during this time that she honed her baking skills inside the kitchen of her family whipping up cakes and biscuits.

The TV star bid farewell to the house in 1950 when the family moved out.

The villa then underwent a huge transformation and was divided into two semi-detached homes.

The one currently up for grabs for a whopping £2.8million still retains its original name and has only changed hands twice.

It sits on an impressive 4,250 sq ft of living space spread across four floors.

The six-bedroom gem boasts three bathrooms and two toilets – including an entrance hall, kitchen, dining room, and drawing room.

It also includes a sitting room, utility, cellar and various storage rooms.

Stepping outside, the property offers a gravel driveway, off-street parking and a garage.

Future owners can enjoy a rear garden with a spacious lawn and a heated swimming pool.

This Morning’s Dermot O’Leary reveals he’s signed up for a huge celebrity reality show

Alistair Heather, from Savills, who are selling the property, said: “South Lawn is a magnificent example of a Victorian family home. Set within large gardens and arranged over four storeys, it is as grand as it is elegant and beautiful.

“Inside it has a similarly impressive, yet warm and comfortable feel – indeed from the moment you step through the door, it is clear that South Lawn is a well-loved family home.

“With period character in abundance, including high ceilings, sash windows, arched doorways and a particularly lovely staircase, it has been significantly extended in recent decades, with a large two-storey extension to the rear, and a swimming pool and garage.”

Dame Mary previously revealed she had spent a “wonderful” time at the property.

During the Second World War, she recalled seeking refuge in the cellar during blackouts.

The family dedicated a significant portion of the gardens to cultivating fruits, vegetables and even housing animals during the challenging years of rationing.

Located on College Road, the property is just a few minutes away to renowed schools attended by Dame Mary.

Mr Heather added: “College Road is a coveted location for families, with two of the most renowned schools in the city, within a stone’s throw.

“Homes here rarely become available and so this Victorian showstopper could well generate quite a stir.”

She eventually went to France at the age of 22 to attend the renowed Cordon Bleu culinary school.
