The personal finance guru said that by using the Groupon website, film fanatics can get over a third off on tickets at Vue cinemas.

The voucher gives customers two tickets for just £9, while there are also bundles of five for £20 or 10 for £38.

Given that the cheapest single ticket is usually £7.99 at Vue, this means that the Groupon slashes costs by almost half.

The tickets can be used for any 2D film and on any day of the week.

There’s no requirement to use them all at once either, meaning they can be split over several trips.

However, the offer won’t last forever as it is only valid up until March 16.

On tonight’s episode of his show, Lewis also revealed his top four tips to save up to £200 on direct debits for energy bills.

He advised anyone who thinks they are overpaying to contact their supplier, armed with figures from an online calculator.

It comes after he warned workers to check a code on their payslips to see if they were owed thousands, and advised couples how to check if they can claim up to £1,242 cash back in tax
