MARTIN LEWIS’ MoneySavingExpert has explained how Ikea shoppers can get festive for less by bagging a £9 real Christmas tree.
In the consumer website’s latest weekly newsletter, shoppers were given tips on how to save cash on their Ikea hauls.

Alongside tricks on how to bag a free tea or coffee in store and getting up to £250 using Ikea’s furniture buy back scheme, fans were told how to bag a real Christmas tree for under a tenner.
It comes as Ikea announced its £9 real Christmas tree offer has made a comeback for the tenth year running this week.
With the real deal costing from £85 at rival retailers, we explain whether Ikea’s offer really is a good one.
How to bag a tree for £9
From November 22 until December 23, you can get a real tree at Ikea for just £9.
You can get the tree for less at all stores except for Ikea’s Manchester and Leeds branches.
The offer works by Ikea giving you a voucher back to spend in store when you buy your Christmas tree from the shop.
Ikea’s real fir Christmas tree costs £29 – then you’ll receive a £20 voucher that you can use in store.
You’ll be able to use the voucher from a limited time only, from January 10 to February 13, 2022.
Make sure to spend the voucher in time in order to make the deal worth it – and note that you will need to spend £29 to get the offer.
The voucher can’t be used on Ikea’s online shop, or in its restaurants, Swedish food market or bistro.
It also cannot be used for home delivery, kitchen planning, installation pick, delivery services or any other service offered by Ikea.
The voucher has no cash value and damaged, copied or altered vouchers will not be accepted.
You must use the voucher as part of a single transaction and it cannot be used alongside other offers.
Is it a good deal?
When The Sun compared prices of real Christmas trees, it looks like Ikea’s deal is the best out there.
Prices for 6ft trees start at £35 if you get yours from the Yorkshire Trading Co.
But that’s still £26 more expensive than what Ikea is selling its tree at.
Prices at the high street shops we looked at went up to £85 if you went to John Lewis – which is a whopping £76 more expensive than Ikea’s
However, remember that you’ll only really get the saving on Ikea’s tree if you remember to spend the voucher you get.
