FREEDOM is coming in dribs and drabs and I for one am preparing!

With hopefully many sunny days outdoors with loved ones on the horizon, you’re sure to need a coolbox to keep your snacks (and all important tipples) chilled.

Time for socially distanced meet-ups! Here’s how to keep things cool

Here’s how to n-icely save cash on keeping things cool…

On the go

If you’re planning a few outdoor drinks with pals, and don’t need to carry too much, you can get away with a smaller bag, rather than a big box. TK Maxx is great for these and they currently have a 15L Navy Regatta Cool Bag for just £9.99, usually £25. I’ve also seen cheap and cheerful (slightly smaller and more flimsy but perfect for tinnies!) bags on Amazon.co.uk for just £4.99, down from £6.90.

Go large!

Make sure you can carry everything with the Symple Stuff 24 L Handheld Cooler, £20.99 at Wayfair.co.uk, usually £25.99. It comes in some great colours and has plenty of room but, if you’re planning on carrying even more, check out the Thermos 32L Cooler Box, £29.95 at towsure.com – the same one is £39.99 at Robert Dyas.

SAVING: Up to £10.04

Card work

If you need a coolbox in a jiffy, you can make a cool box by covering bubble wrap with tinfoil and then lining the inside of a cardboard box with this, before filling with ice. It works a treat when you need a fix in a hurry and doesn’t cost anything.

Statement piece

If you want to make keeping your wares even more cool, you can nab patterned backpacks, rather than chunky, heavy boxes. I love the Argos Home Wilderness Backpack Cool Bag, £7.99, down from £14. It’s perfect for picnicking and al fresco lunches – and keeping your hands free (mums and dads!). I’ve also spotted plainer, but brightly coloured backpack-style options on ebay.co.uk, for around £11.99.
