Over the last few years, it has built up a loyal customer base and has opened 30 new restaurants in areas such as Camden, Reading and Colchester.

It was even recently hailed as “better than McDonald’s” with customers loving their “god tier” burgers and iconic Ice cream/milkshake Frosty.

Now the chain is adding more to its menu in hopes of attracting more Wendy’s customers.

To tip the scale in their favour, Wendy’s is bringing back a much-loved item that their rival McDonald’s discontinued, the Snack Wrap.

Wendy’s is adding four wraps to the UK menu – Signature Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Curry Mayo and Avocado Chicken.

The wraps will feature chicken topped with shredded cheddar cheese, salad and either Heinz mayo or another sauce of your choice.

The new options are fully customisable, so even the fussiest of eaters will be able to change their orders to their liking.

Customers can pick whether to have classic, spicy or grilled chicken fillets inside.

Wendy’s fans will also be able to chuck in an extra crispy applewood smoked bacon for an extra £1.50.

The wraps have been labelled as “the perfect size” for a snack by Hayler Kianoff, Wendy’s manager of international culinary innovation.

She told the Metro: “Our burgers are delicious but some of them are a little bit bigger and a bit more of a heavier eating occasion, so these give customers a lighter option, and they’re great on their own.”

Customers should get two wraps if they’d like to enjoy them as a main meal, the expert claimed.

Hayley recommends the curry mayo with the spicy chicken as the best flavouring paring.

“The curry is really great but doesn’t have a lot of heat to it, so if you want a bit of that, the spicy fillet really amps that up,” she said.

Each wrap is priced at just under £3 individually or £7.99 for a combo meal which includes two wraps, medium fries and a medium drink.

Wendy’s fans are able to get their hands on these wraps now at any of their sites.

Hayley added: “We’re always looking to what is next and what our customers are looking for.

“We’re listening and talking to them, we’re following trends and seeing what makes sense for the market.

“So we’re always working on something new… stay tuned.”

It comes after Wetherspoons announced changes to its menu with a new burger and it’s bound to be a fan favourite.
