And the retailer is planning further changes to its online presence that are likely to please shoppers.

Primark has said that it will be bringing fresh features to its newly launched website.

That includes being able to create a wish list of clothes so you can keep tabs on the outfits you want to purchase later on.

Shoppers will also be able to create an account on the website – but is stopping short of letting you order online.

Primark has famously avoided offering online shopping and home delivery, even when the pandemic hit sales after it was forced to close shops because of lockdowns.

Bosses of the business have said that it is unlikely to ever offer home delivery because the costs are too high.

The high street favourite did not rule out offering a click and collect option though.

Shoppers have been treated to a refreshed website which launched earlier this month.

You can now browse thousands of items across clothes, clothes, shoes and accessories, as well as men’s and kid’s clothes, and homeware.

The website helpfully lets you check if the items are available in your local branch – and in which sizes.

We’ve asked Primark when the new features will be added and will update when we hear back.

Primark said the extra features were in the pipeline after the new site has “seen good early reaction from customers”.

In the first two weeks traffic doubled, the company said in an update today, and shoppers viewed on average twice as many webpages.

But the retailers also warned that some prices will rise this autumn because of inflation.

The company said: “Looking further ahead, inflationary pressures are such that we are unable to offset them all with cost savings, and so Primark will implement selective price increases across some of the autumn/winter stock.

“However, we are committed to ensuring our price leadership and everyday affordability, especially in this environment of greater economic uncertainty.”

Inflation has hit 7% and could go higher which has pushed up everyday costs for millions of households.

Inflation is a measure of how much the prices of goods and services have changed over time.

When it goes up, prices on everyday items and essentials from groceries to fuel to transport costs increase – which means you’ll pay more just to get by.

Disruption to supply chains since the pandemic and the war in Ukraine are pushing up costs.

It’s not the only retailer warning of higher prices. Next said it will hike prices 8% this year, on average, and could be higher for specific lines like homeware.

Greggs, Nando’s, Dunelm and B&M have also said that prices will rise this year.

Primark shoppers can still bag a bargain though – and we’ve revealed how, including spotting “secret sales”.
