LIDL has recalled a popular savoury snack from its shelves after it emerged the product could contain salmonella.
The budget supermarket is recalling its own brand 200g packets of Alesto Californian roasted and salted pistachios.

Anybody who has bought the nuts recently from the store should avoid eating them for fears of food poisoning.
Instead, you should return packs to your local Lidl.
You’ll be able to get a full refund for the recalled product.
Don’t worry if you didn’t keep the receipt, as you won’t have to show this to return any of the affected items – and you’ll still get your money back.
The Food Standards Agency issued a product withdrawal information notice for the pistachios on March 15.
If you did consume any of the affected products it might mean you experience symptoms of salmonella poisoning, which the agency explained usually includes fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
You’ll be able to spot the affected nuts that might be in your shopping, or already tucked away in your cupboard, by the best before date listed on the packaging – it should read: Best Before October 4 2022.
Lidl will be placing signs around its stores to let customers know about the recall too.
The notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the product too.
