AN Amazon shopper has taken to Reddit to make a complaint about a recent order.
The shopper claims they were scammed when purchasing what they thought was a new iPhone.
A picture and explanation of the scam were posted on the popular Reddit forum r/amazonprime.
The forum has 120,000 members and is for sharing advice as well as issues.
“Bought iPhone, got bike lights,” one post warned.
The post even features a picture of the bike lights that the customer received.
“So many horror stories with Amazon lately. Finally happened to me I guess,” the Redditor continued.
They also shared a screenshot of their Amazon order, which pictured the iPhone they wanted.
“Oh boy and I ordered a MacBook last week, took a while also before they actually shipped it.
“Was your order straight from Amazon or a third party seller?” one person asked.

“Directly from Amazon. I recorded the unpacking so that I have proof I got the wrong item. Hopefully I won’t have to use the video,” the initial poster replied.
“Always buy phones in person, never online. My local Verizon store regularly has good deals on brand new phones,” another person wrote.
“I received an empty box from US Cellular once. They made me file a police report before they would issue a new IPhone.
“You couldn’t even tell the box was tampered with,” another person warned.
To stay safe you should always read the comments and reviews before purchasing from an Amazon seller.
Check the pricing of the item and whether it’s dramatically over or under the usual asking price.
Also, check the seller’s name and whether it’s legitimate.
It’s worth making big purchases of branded items from the brand itself.
If you do receive the wrong order you can complain to Amazon and its customer service department should be able to assist you.
