KFC has launched a brand new burger on its menu, just in time for the Queen’s Jubilee.

Fans will be able to enjoy the chicken chain’s new coronation tower burger to celebrate.

Just like the classic high-tea sandwich filling, the star of KFC’s latest treat is its brand-new creamy coronation mayo that covers one of its Original Recipe chicken breast fillets.

The filling is a nod to classic coronation chicken, the traditional Jubilee party dish originally created in 1953 at the coronation of Elizabeth II.

But KFC’s burger is also loaded with cheese and crisp lettuce, plus there’s the addition of a hash brown hidden under the toasted sesame bun.

It launches on May 30 and will be available at selected restaurants.

But foodies don’t have long to get a taste, as it’s leaving the KFC menu again on June 5 – giving fast-food lovers just one week to try the new treat.

During that time it’ll cost £5.49 to purchase in store.

You can upgrade to a meal for another £1 though, and get a side and a drink to wash it all down with, for £6.49.

But that’s not all, if you’re celebrating Her Majesty’s 70-year reign from the comfort of your own sofa, you can get the burger delivered too.

You’ve got to fork out a little more to get the burger brought to your own front door, but thanks to KFC teaming up with Deliveroo, you can get it delivered for £6.99 – or £7.99 as a meal.

Keep in mind that you may have to factor in delivery charges on top of this too, though.

These can vary, depending on just how far you live from your closest branch.

And it is a little more difficult to get your hands on the burger, as it’s only available at 11 restaurants.

Each one, found across the UK, is either located in a Royal Borough or somewhere that KFC has deemed a fun nod to the monarchy, such as Kingston and Weoley Castle.

Where you can get the new KFC burger

On May 30 you’ll be able to get the new coronation chicken burger at KFC in:

  • Ballyhackmore, Belfast
  • South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh
  • Clarence Street, Kingston
  • Bridge Avenue, Maidenhead
  • Queen Street, Newton Abbot,
  • Queens Street, Cardiff
  • Queens Road, Sheffield
  • Gloucester Road, South Kensington
  • The Fountain Business Park, Tunbridge Wells
  • Alwood Road, Weoley Castle, Birmingham
  • Dedworth Road, Windsor

You can use KFC’s branch finder tool to hunt down your closest.

Can I swindle a freebie?

Not everybody has to pay top dollar for the new menu item.

With the launch on its new burger, KFC is giving a number of the chicken treats away for FREE.

If you’re lucky enough to bag one of the freebies it’ll be delivered to your door on Monday, when the burger also hits branches for the first time.

To enter the giveaway you just have to let KFC know your home address on its online competition portal.

The catch is you’ve got to be living in Windsor or Kensington to be in with the chance of winning though.

If that’s not the case there’s other ways of snagging a freebie at KFC.

You can get hidden discounts at the chain, like 20% off, and more, if you know where to look.

And you might even be able to bag yourself a FREE side without even having to purchase anything else.
