Jigsaw could be poised to go upmarket after receiving a £27m offer from a little known retail investor.

Madsen hopes to invest online, expand the company’s licensing arm and attempt to elevate the brand to escape from the fiercely competitive mid-market fashion sector.
Jigsaw has had a chaotic two years. Ross cleared out the boardroom and last year the brand was forced to close half its 80-odd stores.
