SHOPPERS are rushing to fill their online baskets after a lesser-known retailer slashed the price of one of its energy-saving gadgets.

There’s a number of nifty gadgets that can keep you toasty while saving money, including heated throws.
And now shoppers can snap one up for less than £30 after retailer Online Home Shop slashed the price of one from £45 to £26.
The 130 x 160cm charcoal heated blanket comes with a removable remote, nine heat settings and auto-turn off feature.
There’s plenty of five star reviews on the product page as well, with one shopper stating: “Was skeptical (sic) at first.

“The control unit looked a bit basic and flimsy but I’m over a week in and use it every evening.”
A second said: “Great blankets I have actually ordered five – everyone wants one.
“They are great, worth the money cosy and lightweight worth every penny should save some money on the heating.”
Meanwhile, a third added: “Heats up in seconds. Who needs the heating on…not me!! Saving a fortune on heating bills. 5* quality.”

Bear in mind, if you’re looking to order one of the throws to your home, it will set you back £3.95 for standard delivery.
Make sure you’re shopping around to get the best deal as well, as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.
You can use websites like Price Spy and Price Runner, which allow you to compare thousands of products.
A quick scan on the Google Shopping tab will bring up how much retailers are selling a similar-style item for too.
That said, we checked if there were any other retailers selling a similar size heated throw for less than £26, but couldn’t.
B&Q has slashed one from £40 to £30, and it comes with free delivery, but it is slightly smaller than the Online Home Shop one.
Meanwhile, Amazon has one for £35 and Wilko has one for £34.
How else to save money on energy bills
Heated throws are just one of a number of energy-saving gadgets you can use to keep warm during cold weather.
Electric blankets are great at keeping you cosy in bed and usually much cheaper than turning on the heating.
Portable heaters are another great option.
You can get targeted support to help cover energy bills as well.
The Household Support Fund is available to families in England, with the latest round of funding worth £842million.
Who qualifies for help varies depending on where you live as each council sets it own eligibility criteria.
However, in most cases, help is offered to those on a low income or benefits.
Some councils are handing out energy and supermarket vouchers while others are transferring money directly into bank accounts.
You should get in touch with your local council to see what help is available.
You can find your nearest council by using the Government’s council locator tool online and entering your postcode.
You might also be able to get help paying for bills through a grant from your energy firm.
