A SAINSBURY’S shopper has told about “the best bargain of the year and it’s only January” as a Christmas favourite is slashed to just a penny.
The bargain hunter took to Reddit to share the mega deal find to fellow savvy customers.

Deal lovers are urged to rush to their nearest supermarket and snap up 250ml tubs of Sainsbury’s Extra Thick Brandy Cream.
A lucky customer spotted the festive essential on the shelves of the supermarket giant selling for a fraction of the price.
In a post, uploaded to the subreddit r/CasualUK, user @Doublebow said: “Is this the best bargain of the year? Any idea what to do with 20 tubs of this stuff?”
The customer uploaded a picture showing dozens of 500ml tubs of the brandy cream up for grabs for the incredible price of just 1p.

Dozens of shocked consumers flocked to the comments section to share their reactions and share their money-saving tips.
One user said: “Try it in coffee instead of milk.”
Another advised: “This would make a great whipped filling for Brandy Snaps, eclairs, cakes etc. Kinda jealous.”
Others shared their own bargain finds, with one person writing: “I got some for 50p each. It’s a fantastic bargain, but you do have to use it up pretty sharpish cause it can’t keep.”

A fourth penned: “I got the Coop version on clearance yesterday, although not for 1p! I’d never had it before. It had a shocking amount of booze in it!”
The item was originally sold for £4.50 over the festive period.
But because of the excess stock of the dairy product, it has been reduced and sold to eagle-eyed customers before it expires.
With the Christmas period coming to an end, the retailer has significantly reduced prices of various items.
Sainsbury’s also appeared to have been selling the brandy cream for the same generous price on its online site.
However, the product is no already out of stock after being bagged up by sharp-eyed shoppers.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said that the brandy cream on offer is “subject to availability and while stock lasts.”
It comes as food fans are racing to Sainsbury’s as the supermarket slashes the prices of cheese in mega sale.
The supermarket giant reduced down to just 19p its own brand of festive cheeses.

One savvy shopper was left stunned when he noticed that the tasty cheeses had been massively slashed.
Posting on Yellow Sticker Society, a private Facebook group with a staggering 203,100 members, the cheese lover shared pictures of his cheap buys and wrote: “Sainsburys cheese…. Bargain!”
