‘It took me an hour to figure it out’: catch the latest strong Pokémon without the hard work

POKÉMON made some huge announcements at the recent Pokémon Presents including new events coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

All three Kanto starters will be appearing in seven-star raids over the coming weeks, starting with the Mighty Venusaur.

Unlike other seven-star raids, Venusaur will be available for a whole week, from Wednesday, February 28, 2024, until Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Here’s everything you need to know to take down the Mighty Venusaur in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Venusaur stats, nature, move set – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Venusaur sets up Sunny Day and Growth at the start of each battle, and Growth will sharply boost both Attack and Special Attack in the sun. 

It then uses Petal Blizzard before focusing on Ground-, Poison-, and Grass-type special attacks. 

Venusaur will also set up Amnesia, which means that special attackers will not be able to deal much damage in this battle.

Here is The Mighty Venusaur’s full set:

The Mighty Venusaur – Level 100

• Nature – Modest
• Ability – Chlorophyll
• Item – None
• Tera type – Ground
• Move set – Sunny Day, Growth, Petal Blizzard, Amnesia, Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, Earth Power

Best Venusaur counters – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Gyarados’ type is the perfect counter to Venusaur’s attacks and it is a strong physical attacker also.

You can change the weather with Rain Dance, and use Muddy Water to drop Accuracy before Venusaur wipes your stat boosts.

After this you can knock out your NPC teammates to gain the Moxie Attack boost, and recover some health with Shell Bell, or you can Dragon Dance.

Here’s the set we recommend for Gyarados:

Gyarados – Level 100

• Nature – Careful
• Ability – Moxie
• Item – Shell Bell
• Tera type – Water
• Move set – Rain Dance, Dragon Dance, Muddy Water, Waterfall
