Issues with the dating app began around 12pm ET with 191 outages reported between noon and 4pm.
Is Tinder down?
Tinder went down on at 12pm ET on Monday and 67 percent of reported problems were on the app while 20 percent were issues with the server connection, and 14 percent of complaints were about their website.
This is not the first issue Tinder has had in the last several months. According to downdetector.com, Tinder encountered issues on October 1, 2021, September 26, 2021, and August 27, 2021.
The app encountered a reported five issues in August 2021 alone.
Users reported that their accounts were deleted as a result of the fault. The side effect was not permanent and their accounts have been restored.
Why is Tinder not working?
Tinder’s official Twitter Support page hasn’t posted anything about the outage.
Facebook is down as well, and users posted on Twitter hoping to turn to their Tinder accounts to pass the time.
While some hopefuls said, “With Facebook and Instagram down girls will have no choice but to match with me on Tinder,” others realized the app was failing them.
“Tinder must be town too, nobody’s replying to my hilarious openers,” one person tweeted, while another said, “I just realized, this is the reason I’ve not been getting any matches. Tinder has been down for so long guys.”
How many people use Tinder?
Tinder is one of the world’s most popular dating apps.
It’s famous for its “swipe” mechanic, which lets users match based on whether they like the look of each other.
In the third quarter of 2020, the app had 6.6million paying subscribers – and many times more users.
Tinder says users make up to 1.6billion swipe a day. Over half of users log on every single day.
