CHATGPT and its parent company OpenAI appear to have suffered an outage on Tuesday.
Thousands of reports regarding OpenAI being down flooded Downdetector at around 9.00am EST.

A staggering 54 percent of reports complained of issues surrounding the ChatGPT app.
Another 33 percent of reports flagged problems with OpenAI’s website.
The remaining 14 percent of reports noted problems with logging in.
Some users in Downdetector’s comments said they were having trouble generating content via ChatGPT.
Others merely shared their frustration with the popular advanced chatbot being down.
“I don’t like this feeling of ChatGPT being down… What was life like before this?!!?!??” one user exclaimed.
“Dang it… you mean I need to write something all by my lonesome?” a second user remarked.
“BRO I WAS GONNA WORK ON A PYTHON GAME RLY CHATGPT?!!!” a third person commented.

It’s not clear at the moment why ChatGPT or OpenAI are down, but experts have suggested a few reasons.
For starters, the software’s popularity could mean that the service has been overloaded – or there could be a bug.
WHAT IS CHATGPT?
Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT is an advanced chatbot that was released in November 2022.
It can generate responses in natural language to prompts in seconds, including writing essays, poems, and complex code.
Most recently, OpenAI released GPT-4, which accepts both image and text inputs to emit text outputs – unlike ChatGPT 3.
This means you can show a photo of something to GPT-4, and the chatbot can describe the scene and even predict what could happen next.
