IT looks like a number of Blizzard Entertainment’s games are having issues after a rise in reports from gamers online.

A spike in queries associated with World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2 and Diablo were picked up on the Down Detector website.

World of Warcraft was apparently affected

Battle.net, the Blizzard’s online gaming platform, had more than 500 reports alone after midday UK time.

But problems appear to have been going on all morning.

Is battle.net down?

Just after 9am UK time, the firm tweeted to say it is investigating an issue affecting their authentication servers.

This may result in failed or slow login attempts.

At 11am, the firm updated gamers, saying: “We apologise once again for the inconvenience caused by today’s outages, we’re working to resolve this ASAP.”

Reports on Down Detector have started to reduce, indicating that the issue may have been fixed.

It’s not clear how widespread the outage was.

How can I check if battle.net is down?

The first place worth checking is social media to see if other players are experiencing the same problem.

Blizzard’s official X / Twitter accounts are also worth checking.
