IPHONE owners have unknowingly been carrying a hidden Wi-Fi blocker in their pockets for years, a phone expert on TikTok revealed.
Fortunately, it takes only seconds to boost your connection again.

TikToker @simplealpaca explained that while the easiest way to increase your iPhone internet speed is by getting closer to the router – a chunky iPhone case can act as a signal blocker.
Bulkier cases with built in card holders have become very popular over the years, as the smartphone rose to become an equal essential alongside the wallet.
But what iPhone owners don’t realise is that these types of cases can slow down their Wi-Fi connection.
“If I’m sitting in class, let’s say I’m super far away from the school’s Wi-Fi, well there’s really not much I can do,” the TikToker explained.

“I can try connecting to a more local high speed internet connection, but the majority of the time there’s not much you can do.
“Physically you’re going to have to get closer to that Wi-Fi router, and that’s basically the easiest way to increase your Wi-Fi speed.”
Here’s where you should turn your attention to what type of case you have.
“Now, the other thing you can try doing that I’ve actually seen a lot of people have success with is seeing if you have a massive, thick, case on your iPhone,” he added.

“If you have a really big case on your iPhone with cards in the back and so many other things, well the best thing you can try doing is actually removing that case from your phone.”
This should help the Wi-Fi signals being emitted from the router find your iPhone.
If this is a regular issue, try investing in a more streamline case.
Though be sure that it is durable enough to withstand any droppages and other accidents.
