It’s only been out for a matter of hours, but an iPhone 15 Pro has already been involved in a nail-biting drop test.

MailOnline’s Shivali Best launched Apple’s new flagship device out of the window of a highspeed drift car, travelling around a racetrack at 60mph.

Despite featuring a new titanium frame, there’s no doubt that the iPhone 15 Pro alone would have been obliterated during such a feat.

However, this device was protected with a Mous case, and amazingly it survived the drop unscathed.

The impressive test isn’t Mous’ first – the brand has become renowned for its daring trials on iPhone launch days, previously launching an iPhone from a hot air balloon, and during a bungee jump, 60ft off the ground.

The iPhone 15 Pro was one of four new models that went on sale today, alongside the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The Mous team woke up bright and early this morning to hit the Apple Store on London’s Brompton Road, where they purchased the brand new iPhone 15 Pro, and placed it in a Mous Limitless 5.0 case.

With the new device in hand, they headed to Drift Limits racetrack in Hemel Hempstead, where the £1,499 device was handed over to Shivali.

Before the nerves could kick in, Shivali was whisked into the passenger seat of a racecar and was driven towards the racetrack.

With a GoPro trained on her nerve-wracked face, the racecar sprang into action, with driver Johnny putting the pedal to the metal as he expertly navigated the track.

The first few laps saw Shivali clinging onto her seatbelt for dear life.

However, by the fourth lap she managed to reach for the iPhone 15 Pro, take a deep breath, and launch it out the window.

As Johnny screeched to a halt, the Mous team raced onto the track, eager to see if the device had survived the drop.

To both Shivali and the Mous team’s relief, the iPhone 15 Pro itself was completely unscathed, although the case and screen protector had both taken a bit of a battering.

Mous’ flagship cases are built with the brand’s impact-absorbing AiroShock technology, and feature raised edges around the sides and camera bump.

As seen during the test, this provides 360-degree protection for the phone – including the screen – from every angle.

‘I honestly had no idea whether the iPhone would survive,’ said James Griffith, founder of Mous.

‘We’ve tested our cases from extremely high drops but never from speeds this fast.

‘It constantly amazes me what our engineers have managed to produce with the Limitless cases.’

Following the drift car test, Mous took things up a level, giving the iPhone 15 Pro to Drift Limits’ F1 driver, Lewis, who was sat behind the wheel of an authentic Jordan EJ12 F1 car.

As Lewis flew around the racetrack, he launched the iPhone 15 Pro into the air, before it smashed back to the tarmac.

Amazingly, once again, the smartphone survived in one piece, thanks to the Limitless case.

The stunt comes almost exactly one year after Mous tested the brand new iPhone 14 by launching it into the air mid-bungee jump

Lucy Hutchinson, co-founder and Chief Brand & Creative Officer at Mous, said: ‘We do these mad stunts and push our phone cases to the absolute limits – and they don’t always work.

‘We do this so our customers can feel confident that their tech will be protected in their day-to-day lives.’

Mous’ Limitless cases are available to buy from their website now, with prices ranging from £49.99 to £59.99.
