International Olympic Committee is waiting for a report from Belarusian counterparts on the incident involving Krystsina Tsimanouskaya

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has launched an investigation into the case of sprinter Krystsina Tsimanouskaya, who took refuge in the Polish embassy in Tokyo on Monday after refusing her team’s orders to board a flight home from the Olympic Games.

A spokesperson for the IOC said on Tuesday it was waiting for a report later in the day from the Belarusian National Olympic Committee on the incident that has rocked the Games. Warsaw has offered Tsimanouskaya a humanitarian visa.
