Interior design group Sanderson posted a 12 per cent rise in profits yesterday amid strong demand for its British-inspired homeware in the US.
The wallpaper and furnishings seller reported a pre-tax profit of £5.5million for the six months to the end of July, and revenue inched up 0.7 per cent to £57.9million.
Sanderson, which has a partnership with England rugby star Maro Itoje, did really well in the US, especially with its Morris & Co brand, which creates designs inspired by 19th-century artist William Morris.

But in the UK, ‘challenges abound’ despite an encouraging performance from its top customers.
As a result, Sanderson chairman Dianne Thompson said it would continue to focus on the North American market.
The shares jumped 11.9 per cent, or 11.5p, to 108.5p.
