DEATH has always been one of the few certainties in life but scientists and the super-rich are trying to hack it and find ways to live forever.

From creating an artificially intelligent version of yourself to using youthful blood to roll back time, we’ve rounded up some of the ways people are trying to hack death.

AI CONSCIOUSNESS

Living forever could involve artificial intelligence or even a virtual version of yourself.

Last year, a company called Somnium Space revealed plans to offer immortality to its users with a new ‘Live Forever’ mode.

Partakers will need to give a large amount of data to Somnium Space and agree to have a virtual version of themselves living in the metaverse.

Artur Sychov, CEO and founder of Somnium Space, revealed to Vice his plans to add ‘Live Forever’ mode.

He said: “Literally, if I die—and I have this data collected—people can come or my kids, they can come in, and they can have a conversation with my avatar, with my movements, with my voice.

“You will meet the person. And you would maybe for the first 10 minutes while talking to that person, you would not know that it’s actually AI. That’s the goal.”

NANOBOTS

Some experts think nanobot technology could help us avoid death.

Ray Kurzweil is a computer scientist who predicted humans will become immortal by 2030.

In his book The Singularity Is Near, the famous futurist suggests we’ll have the technology to help humans live forever by 2030.

He thinks this technology could come in the form of nanobots that can repair the body internally.

BLOOD FROM YOUTH

Multi-millionaire Bryan Johnson uses the blood of his son Talmage to try and stay young.

The 46-year-old tech mogul has admitted to spending millions on treatments that he hopes will regain his youth and reduce the medical age of his organs.

A liter of blood is removed from both Johnson and his son and converted into parts via a high-tech machine.

The blood is split into liquid plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

A fresh blood concoction is then injected into Johnson’s veins.
