The outgoing boss of Rolls-Royce earned £4million in 2021 after netting a bonus of almost £3million.
Warren East, who plans to leave by the end of this year, saw his total pay rise by 259 per cent from 2020, when the Covid crisis forced the engineering group to slash the amount it gave to its executives.
His bonus, paid in shares, came as he hit more than three-quarters of his performance targets for the year, according to Rolls’ annual report.
He has been at the helm since 2015.
