The useful tip was posted on TikTok by user @letsdodiz to help iOS users protect their investment before buying a used iPhone.

First, the content creator, named Milad, directed users to their devices’ keypads and told them to enter this code: *#06#.
That pulls up all of your device’s internal information such as IMEI numbers and your EID code.
A device’s IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a 15-17-digit code that is given to every mobile phone.
The number is used by service providers to identify valid devices
Milad then told people to grab the IMEI number and enter it into a certain website’s IMEI tracker.
The website, iunlocker.com, helps reveal if an iPhone has been reported as stolen or lost.
Other helpful pieces of information are also available on the webpage such as the warranty left on a device.
Furthermore, users can find out where the device was purchased and its expected expiration date.

People are advised to know this sort of information before purchasing a used iPhone, according to the TikTok creator.
Since going live, the TikTok video has gathered more than 2,000 likes.
Dozens of users also proclaimed their gratitude for the hack in the comments section.
