The Sun spoke to store manager Nash Varsani to get inside tips on the bargain supermarket.

The Little Venice store manager has worked for Aldi since 1997 and knows the supermarket chain inside out.
Below, he shares his inside information for getting the most out of a visit to one of the UK’s lowest-priced supermarkets.
SHOP WHEN IT IS QUIET
There’s a good window of opportunity to shop, to make the visit less stressful, Nash says.
“If you’re looking for a quieter time to shop, Aldi stores are usually the least busy in the evenings between 7pm and 10pm.
“Mid-morning to mid-afternoon, between 10am to 3pm, is normally our busiest period so time your visit if you are flexible about when you can shop.”

GRAB A SECRET SALES FOR SPECIAL BUYS BARGAIN
As for grabbing a bargain, Nash says you need to know this insider tip.
“Our legendary Aldi Specialbuys are always in demand and often sell out quickly.
“Something a lot of shoppers don’t know is that we have a ‘Secret Sale’ section on our website where they can find Specialbuys that are no longer on sale in stores – and they’re normally even cheaper too.”
You might want to grab a Specialbuy trolley while you’re at it – the supermarket made an extra long version so shoppers can stock up on middle aisle bargains more easily.
JOIN THE ALDI FAN CLUB
If you are not a member of the Aldi fan club, then Nash suggests you could really benefit from doing so.
“There are thousands of passionate Aldi fans up and down the country. The Aldi Shoppers UK Facebook page brings many of them together to discuss their top tips and favourite products at Aldi.
“It’s worth signing up to the group if you’re on Facebook to see what the latest news and discussion is about everything to do with Aldi, including exciting new products that are due to launch.”
You can also sign up to other bargain hunter Facebook groups like Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.
Aldi deals usually come up in groups like this, such as this shopper who shared their massive furniture sale haul from the discount grocer.
WHERE TO LOOK FOR CASH PRIZES
Make sure to keep your receipts at Aldi – it could put you in with a chance of winning free cash vouchers to spend at the store.
“If you like Aldi, then you must tell us,” says Nash.
“Customers sometimes don’t spot this, but there’s a code on every receipt that gives them the chance to win £100 of Aldi vouchers.
“All you need to do is leave some feedback on our website and you’re in with a shout of winning – and £100 goes a long way at Aldi!”
LOOK OUT FOR RED STICKERS
You might have heard of yellow sticker food – which can save you up to 75% on products near their use by date – but Aldi puts red stickers on food it wants to shift quick.
It’s worth hunting the discounted aisles for these red sticker bargains to get your grub for even less.
“One of my store team’s first jobs when we open up each morning is to reduce the prices of any products on their last day of shelf life. We put big red stickers on them so they’re easy to spot.
“The reductions are fairly hefty – 30% at the start of the day, and then 75% nearer to closing time – so finding these is a great way to save even more money on your shop.”
PLAN AHEAD FOR XMAS
It goes without saying that planning is the key to making your Xmas shopping a lot easier.
Nash says in store he has seen his customers start their shopping well in advance of the big day.
“At this time of year, we start to see the savviest shoppers buying their Christmas items over a number of weeks or months.
“It can help to spread the cost over a couple of pay checks. Lots of our customers start buying longer life products like frozen food, drinks and Christmas puddings well in advance to lighten the load when it comes to the final Christmas shop.”
FRESH FESTIVE FOOD
Supermarkets usually slash the price of Christmas veggies in the run up to the big day to tempt customers into shopping in their stores for their supplies.
This year, Lidl was the first supermarket to slash the price of veggies to 19p – but Aldi will also be cutting costs as well.
“When it comes to shopping for those final fresh festive items, our Super 6 offers have been extended across Christmas vegetables from Thursday 16th December until Friday 24th December where customers can complete their Christmas dinner with Brussel sprouts, parsnips, potatoes, cabbage and swede for just 19p per pack – without a compromise on quality.
“Not forgetting the main event for your Christmas dinner – in store from Sunday 19th December, our range of fresh British-reared whole turkeys and turkey crowns, which really do offer top-quality at unbeatable value.”
