AS gadgets age, their batteries do too – which is why your Ring doorbell might be struggling to hold its charge.

Without power, Ring security devices are rendered useless and it can be a faff having to recharge the battery all the time.

To see your battery charge percentage in the Ring app, simply follow these steps:

  1. Tap the three lines on the top left of the Dashboard screen.
  2. Tap Devices.
  3. Tap the doorbell or camera you want to check.
  4. Tap Device Health.
  5. Check the percentage under Battery Level.

Once you’ve checked your battery and determined that it needs a charge, charge it.

If you have been using a Ring Solar Charger to power up your Ring Video Doorbell (1st Generation), it’s possible that the battery is no longer strong enough to get fully charged from the trickle charge that comes from the Solar Charger.
