Giselle told Business Insider: “When I realized that I could start creating content for brands without having a huge following, without being an influencer, I started digging.”

With just her iPhone and ten years of marketing experience, Giselle began making talk-through videos, product reviews and more.

This newfound income is thanks to UGC – user generated content – an exploding market which is seeing many earn big bucks.

UGC refers to videos, reviews and testimonies about a brand’s product created by actual users.

This means Giselle gets to use products she loves, review them, and make money from it.

Now Giselle makes advertisements for small businesses on Instagram and TikTok, and thanks to social media is able to stay at home with her children.

Giselle said: “When it comes to working with brands, it’s important that you work with brands you feel attracted to and brands that align with your beliefs.

“UGC videos are testimonials, so they must be authentic.”

Giselle also revealed she does extensive research into each company before reaching out to work with them.

To begin, she recommends starting out with a £80 ($100) per video rate – and from there, you can raise your rates with experience.

Another mum showed how she makes a whopping £6000 per month without having any qualifications with UGC.

Mum Abigail said: “You never post the content to your own social media which means you can have zero followers and still be a very successful UGC creator.

“You can do it from the comfort of your home like I do.”

The mum also explains how apart from the financial independency she now has more time to spend with her daughter.

She wrote in the video’s caption: “When my daughter was 8 months old, I lost my creative director job and decided to go full time with UGC creation.

“Now I work about 10 hours a week as a UGC creator from home with my daughter, and make anywhere from $6k-$10k a month doing this.”
