BLACK mould can be a huge problem in UK homes.
While it’s an extremely ugly problem, it is also something you can’t afford to ignore as it can cause a host of health conditions, including respiratory issues and rashes.
And any property with damp is in danger of black mould – with it proving difficult to get rid of.
There are a number of ways you can try to rid yourselves of the problem, with home remedies including Astonish Mould & Mildew Blaster Spray.
But while you might be tempted to try to ignore the problem, that’s in fact the worst thing you can do.
And painting over black mould is even worse.
Jamie Hancox, an expert at paint brand Tikkurila told Huffington Post: “Even though it may appear that you have visually taken care of the problem, the mould spores will still be alive beneath the coat of paint you have applied and will soon show through again.”
So, not only if it a waste of money buying the paint, it will be a waste of your time.
So with households facing budgets pressure, here are some important steps to prevent mould from forming.
Try to make sure your home is kept above 15C.

Bathroom expert Evan Jones from Bathroom Supastore warned: “Condensation will form on your windows when the outside air is too cold.
“Keeping the inside of your home above 15°C will stop this condensation from forming and keeping your temperature constant could also help cut down on your energy bills.”
If you find your home is still filled with excess moisture then you could consider using a dehumidifier.
Getting rid of mould can be a dangerous task in itself and it should often be left to the professionals.
