The home appliance company is launching the industry’s first vertical two-basket air fryer.

Ninja’s new air fryer will hit shelves later this year

Dubbed the Ninja DoubleStack XL 2-Basket Air Fryer, the gadget will provide double the performance of a single-basket air fryer.

But it will also take up 40% less counter space than a typical duel basket device.

Reacting to the news on Facebook, one Ninja fan said: “I can finally get one that’ll fit my kitchen.”

Another said: “We need to upgrade ours as soon as this is released.”

“This is just what we need,” said a third shopper.

The device measures just 30cm across and reinvents what a traditional dual-basket air fryer looks like.

Instead of two drawers side by side, they are stacked on each other, giving you back more counter space in your kitchen.

The drawers contain a non-stick ceramic coating, and there are six different modes of cooking to choose from – Air Fry, Max Crisp, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate.

The Ninja DoubleStack air fryer will be available in two different sizes – either 7.6 litres or 9.5 litres – when it hits shelves later this year.

Unfortunately, Shark Ninja has not yet released how much the device will cost when it becomes available for purchase in the UK.

However, it’s said that the manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the product in the US will be $229.99.

Commenting on the new product line, Mark Barrocas, chief executive officer at Shark Ninja, said: “Shark Ninjas track record of launching game-changing innovations and rapidly capturing market share across categories is a result of our associates’ boundless curiosity and relentless drive to solve consumer problems.

“Our latest innovations deliver the high-tech features, market-leading performance, quality and extraordinary value Shark and Ninja products are known for, positively impacting people’s lives every day, in and outside their homes, around the world.”

Ninja is also releasing a host of other new gadgets as part of its new year product launch including a new cooler and multi-cooker.

What is an air fryer?

An air fryer is similar to a mini oven that can take on almost anything you’d put in a conventional oven or deep-fat fryer.

They have a fan over a heating element that quickly circulates hot air around the cooking chamber.

But because it’s only heating a small space, it gets hot quicker than a conventional oven and stays warmer for longer so you don’t use as much energy.

Food is typically held in an air fryer basket, which has vents to allow this hot air to pass through and cook your food evenly.

Air fryers are best for things you want to crisp up.

But you can also bake, roast and even dehydrate ingredients too, depending on the model.

How much do they cost to run?

Using an air fryer instead of a conventional oven is a much cheaper way to cook.

A two-kilowatt oven costs around 29p to run for half an hour, or 58p for an hour’s use.

But you could run a 1,000W air fryer for an hour for 29p less.

And a 3.5kW own costs around 51p to run for half an hour and £1.02 for an hour.

This makes an air fryer once again the cheapest option.
