The Louisiana-based chain is introducing breakfast rolls, muffins, sweet snacks and sides after first unveiling the menu last March, with fans who have tried it already branding it “so, so good”.

Another said “KFC literally comes nowhere near Popeyes” while a third added that “it’s (a) really nice breakfast”.

Fast food fans will be able to pick up a Big Cajun Roll from £4.99, which comes with a sausage patty, Cajun hash brown, a free range egg and four smoked streaky bacon rashers.

Meanwhile, customers can snap up Popeyes’ signature Louisiana Biscuit in cinnamon, Nutella, Hartley’s strawberry jam and honey flavours, with prices starting from £1.50.

For those not so keen on the biscuit, the chain is also selling an egg and cheese muffin for £3.50, as well as bacon and sausage variations.

Foodies looking for something a bit lighter can opt for the English muffin with Hartley’s strawberry jam for £1.99.

Between February 20 and March 20, foodies can grab a bacon roll, hash brown and drink for £1.99 instead of £2.99 as well.

And all rolls and muffins on the menu come with a meal deal option, meaning customers can add a hash brown and drink from £1 extra.

It comes after Popeyes announced plans to open a further 30 sites across the UK before the end of 2024.

The US-founded chain, which fans say serves the “best burgers in the UK”, opened its first UK restaurant in November 2021.

Popeyes said its latest move will create around 2,000 jobs, with sites opening across the UK including in Birmingham, Aberdeen and Swansea.

When it made the announcement on January 22, the quick-service restaurant chain operated 38 sites, including five drive-thrus.

Popeyes first opened in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1972 and has 350 branches in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The company operates 3,400 restaurants across 25 countries.

Meanwhile, Popeyes is not the first fast food chain to announce a major update to its breakfast menu in recent weeks.

The home of the Big Mac McDonald’s added eight new items to restaurant menus earlier this month, including the breakfast wrap.
