ICELAND shoppers will be keen to know opening hours over the Christmas bank holidays.

Some shops and supermarkets reduce hours on public holidays to give staff some much-needed time off.

That means Iceland may change its hours across many of its stores over Christmas, so you’ll want to make a note of their opening times.

Iceland has almost 1,000 stores nationwide and is one of the most popular supermarkets in the UK.

When will Iceland be open over Christmas?

Most Iceland stores are open from 7am or 8am until 7pm, and in some cities, stores are open until 9pm.

But the frozen food specialist will close on Boxing Day, as well as Christmas Day.

Iceland also closed its doors on Boxing Day last year to give its staff a well-earned rest.

What are other businesses doing?

A number of other retailers announced they will be closing their doors on Boxing Day.

Aldi will pull down the shutters on all of its shops so staff can spend more time with their families.

Meanwhile, Waitrose & Partners exclusively revealed to The Sun that it will be closing all 364 of its branches on Christmas Day and Boxing Day too.

The majority of the chain’s shops will then trade normal hours between December 27 and New Year’s Eve
