Brit who won an amazing £200k lottery prize has said he can’t wait to splash the cash on a car – but will only buy one worth £16k.

Paul, from Chorley in Manchester, bagged the eye-watering Millionaire Street jackpot when he signed up to the Postcode Lottery.

The life of the electrical company worker changed forever when an agent from the Lottery knocked on his door.

Paul was left almost in tears when he was handed the whopping £200,000 cheque.

The dad-of-two has now revealed he won’t be splashing the money on expensive sport cars or luxury items.

Instead, he plans on spending the prize on a more convenient item.

Paul is ditching his old Ford Fiesta for a new vehicle – a Ford Mondeo.

However, despite his life-changing jackpot, he’s opting for comfort over speed.

The humble man said: “I’m going to buy a beer first and then a car. I hate my car that I’ve got at the minute.

“I’m not really into big or fast cars. I just want to be comfortable while I’m driving.

“I’m a [Ford] Mondeo man and I’m not going to change that.”

The everyday car sells on the market from £16,465.

Paul tried his luck without ever believing he could bag the amazing prize – but he was left shocked when he received the incredible call.

He said: “I would have been happy with anything, but I can’t comprehend that amount of money, it’s obscene.

“I had looked online and thought I’d maybe win their £30,000 prize but this is just ridiculous.”

The loving son is hoping to share the money with his parents and treat them to a wonderful holiday getaway.

He said: “I’ll hopefully send my mum and dad away on a holiday, but that’s only if they’ll take it, because they’re stubborn.”

Charitable Paul has also promised to give away some cash to a greyhound charity in honour of his pet greyhound Harry.

The lucky man shared £1 million with three other neighbours after their postcode PR7 2QD was announced to be the winner of the Millionaire Street prize.

People’s Postcode Lottery Presenter Judie McCourt said: “It was a fantastic sunny day to be out knocking on more winners’ doors.

“We felt so welcomed on their street.”

It comes after a dad pocketed £4,000 in free cash – simply for blabbing about his neighbour to the council.

Tony Jordan, 61, a former London fireman and taxi driver, had come across the house on his walk to his local bus stop with the property visibly derelict and with an overgrown front garden.

Meanwhile, another man who scooped £10million in a lottery jackpot said one big purchase still makes him cry – his own personal bar.

Former bus driver Peter Lavery, then 34, scooped just over £10.2m in May 1996, and initially thought a pal was playing a trick on him, when he was told he’d won.
