A RELAXED man woke up to discovery he had scooped a lottery jackpot of almost £60,000 – but he fancied bed over celebrating.
Canadian Stan Ismond didn’t want to wake up his wife or daughter after hearing the news so he graciously did some housework and went back to sleep.
The lucky lottery punter, who hails from a remote village in Saskatchewan, landed the serious prize of £58,700 (CAD$100,000), the Mirror reports.
He had matched the last six digits in the Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s draw.
He awoke one day and checked his lottery progress on an app – but to his complete surprise he had won.
Stan quietened his elation so his wife could sleep and then went about his daily routine trying also not to wake up his daughter and got on with some chores.
And despite all his excitement, he bizarrely got back into bed for well-deserved lie-in.
He said: “I didn’t want to wake up my wife. Internally, I was saying ‘Woo hoo’.
“It feels amazing. One of the greatest feelings ever.”
With his huge clash influx, Stan hopes to invest some of the money.
