TOM Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege threw one of its biggest esports events of the year over the weekend.
The Six Invitational took place from February 23 until February 25 in São Paulo, Brazil.

It’s the competitive shooting game’s first major event in Brazil in five years, with a massive prize pool of $3million.
The Six Invitational 2024 was the most-watched ever, with a peak of 500k concurrent viewers across all platforms, according to video game developer Ubisoft.
Brazilian team w7m esports snatched a dramatic victory in front of a home crowd at the sold-out Ginásio do Ibirapuera stadium.
They were trailing to favourites FaZe Clan, who had a 6-1 lead going into the final map of the series.

W7m esports pulled off an incredible comeback by winning seven consecutive rounds and sending the stadium into uproar.
They won the grand prize of $1million and lifted the trophy: a full-sized sledgehammer inspired by one of the characters in the game, Sledge.
The story of the night concerned competing twins Thiago and Felipe Ferreira, known under the nametags of Handy and Nade.
They were on competing teams, resulting in an epic brother vs. brother clash on home turf.

It was similar to Super Bowl 58 earlier this month, which saw Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs beat his brother Jason Kelce’s San Francisco 49ers.
Rainbow Six Siege esports director Maxime Vial says:
“We’ve done two events in Brazil in the past for Siege, and every time it blows my mind.
“We know every local crowd is super passionate but Brazillians tend to take it up to the next level.”
Scottish esports player Jack ‘Doki’ Robertson came fourth with his team G2 Esports.
He prefers playing Siege in a live setting, and admitted he feeds off crowds’ negativity.
“Today, for example, the crowd was really against us, but every time we did something good, they were all silent.”
Robertson’s team may have come fourth, but he enjoyed the event regardless.
“I’ll take this memory to the grave. Playing on that stage engulfed by thousands of people is insane.”
Rainbow Six Siege continues to grow, with roughly 57k concurrent players over the past 30 days.
That’s compared to roughly 41k concurrent players in February 2023, according to Steam Charts.
