A MAN who bought a Toby Carvery delivery that looked like “four brown logs” said even his dog wouldn’t touch it.
Stephen Thompson blasted the “disgusting” meal after requesting two Thursday Starter Surprise bags from his local branch in Darlington, Durham.
Stephen ordered the Carvery meals via Too Good To Go, which makes use of restaurants’ surplus and unsold food in an effort to help reduce waste.
Eager to tuck into his food, Stephen was shocked at the contents of his order once it arrived.
Posting to Facebook, he wrote: “Toby Carvery’s new starter meal absolutely disgusting not worth the trip.”
His disappointed post was accompanied by an image of four brown logs in a cardboard delivery container.

Stephen said that he initially thought the substance was meant to be pate, but was put off by its horrifying appearance.
Speaking to Tyla, he said: “That’s got to have been the worst meal I’ve had in my life and I bought two. Feel like I’ve been robbed.”
However, he still attempted to eat the order – potentially out of sheer curiosity as much as anything else – adding: “I had to spit it out. Even my dog wouldn’t eat it.”
Stephen wasn’t the only Toby customer to be less than impressed with his starter delivery.

One woman posted an image of her brown logs which had some slices of cucumber next to them and wrote: “I also bought the Toby Carvery starter bag.
“The pate was frozen and the cucumber wasn’t edible. Did get the chutney but no bread.
“Very disappointed.”
And other social media viewers were quick to weigh in with their opinions after seeing Stephen’s appalling delivery.
One user wrote: “Looks like dog food, what’s it meant to be?”
A second added: “What was it? Looks like something from my cat’s litter tray.”
A third joked: “Why does it look like someone has just s***e in a box?!”
The Sun have contacted Toby Carvery and Too Good to Go for comment.
What is Too Good To Go?
The Too Good To Go app aims to tackle the huge amounts of food that is thrown away as supermarkets get rid of food that’s about to go off, and restaurants and cafes don’t toss out things that aren’t fresh.
The idea is that stores sign up to sell magic boxes of about to go off items for a reduced price.
There are only a few boxes available every day so you need to be quick. The food is all close to expiry but you can freeze it, or cook something up and keep it for a few days more.
Morrisons was the first supermarket to trial it, with Aldi following suit.
As well as Greggs, you can also find Starbucks, Costa, Cafe Nero and Subway on the app.
It comes after angry shoppers were left “absolutely disgusted” when Mother’s Day flowers from major retailers arrived “dead” and “mouldy”.
Customers have slammed shops including M&S, MoonPig and Interflora after allegedly receiving dead floral arrangements.
