A SAVVY shopper revealed her £2 B&M find that banishes cold and draft from windows – meaning she saves a small fortune on her energy bills.

TikTok user @somekindofvintage, took to social media to share her incredible money saving hack that’s perfect for battling through the winter months.

Many homeowners will know of the frustration of having heat escaping through windows, causing you to crank up the heating and turn on the radiators which isn’t cheap.

It can be even more difficult to retain heat if you live in an old house or are unable to replace your windows – but this is where the content creators genius hack comes in.

She took to TikTok to share her methods on how to “insulate vintage windows”, while promising viewers that is was “quick and easy”.

She said: “You’ll need a small bubble wrap, scissors, and a spray bottle with water.

“Cut the bubble wrap to fit inside the window frame, then lightly spray all of the glass.

“Then place the bubble wrap on the glass pressing throughout.

“Also, make sure to put the bubble side facing out so the bubbles are on the glass,” she added.

The DIY whiz referred to it as “easy insulation and privacy that can be removed in the spring” -which can also be “reused.”

And on top of that, as bubble wrap is transparent it won’t stop any natural light from entering your home and it can be picked up for just £2 at your local B&M store.

B&M’s bubble wrap is five metres long and according to the website is “multipurpose, versatile and fully flexible”.

“With an approximate size of 500mm x 5m, there is plenty here for you to wrap to your heart’s content and to make sure your items are delivered fully in tact with no blemishes,” the description reads.

But this isn’t the only hack floating around online that could help you slash energy bills this winter.

A heating expert revealed an easy hack that could save you £100 on your energy bills.

Specialists from  the Energy Saving Trust said: “If you are warm enough, try turning your thermostat down by one degree, which could save you around £100 a year”.

A cost-clever mum also told of her £1 “cuppa hack” that she said saved her loads of cash on her energy bill.

Gemma Bird explained that if you “descale your appliances” – kettles, dishwashers and the like – “they become more energy efficient”. 

So not only will it be nice to have a sparkling clean kettle – it will also help it “last longer and work better”, as well as save you a load of dosh on your energy bills. 

An energy expert told all on how households can save up to a whopping £162 on bills by carrying out a few easy checks.

If you’re not using the radiators in certain rooms of the house, turning them down could save up to £18, they said.

And Brits were left stunned when they discovered a free hack that will help them keep warm this winter.

In a helpful video posted to YouTube by @DaveHax, the content creator shared one way to keep your feet warm.

“Before you go out, you can warm your shoes up with a hairdryer”, he explained.
