A COUPLE who scooped a life changing £105million lottery win have kept their heads out of the clouds by not splashing the cash on fancy motors.

Builder Steve Thomson, 42, and wife Lenka, 41, bought a second-hand van and car after winning the huge windfall – and even continued doing their own DIY.

The couple have refused to spend for the sake of it after their mega jackpot, the tenth biggest in the UK.

Soon after revealing their win Steve purchased a secondhand van for himself followed by a Volvo XC90 for Lenka.

Savvy Steve also invested a chunk of his wiun with the Queens bank, Coutts & Co, following the windfall in 2019.

They reportedly put “tens of millions” into a trust and could be set for another huge windfall in years to come.

The family also swapped his terrace house in Selsey, West Sussex, for a sprawling country estate last year.

But their new 14.5-acre estate, which boasts a swimming pool, tennis court and party barn, is seven times the size of an average UK property.

Neighbours near the imposing 7,000 sq ft farmhouse in Kent include Hollywood actors, rockstars and an IT tycoon.

Steve said it was key for his kids to have their own rooms, but vowed that he would renovate the place himself.

He said: “The kids have finally got their own bedrooms. It’s a simple thing but it was all they ever wished for.

“I still haven’t got over what happened to us and am honestly still trying to process it still. It feels like yesterday we were in our old lives — it will take a little while to adjust.

“We are very lucky to be in this place but there’s a lot of work that needs doing, so I’ll be focusing on that for the time being.”

After winning the EuroMillions jackpot Steve, who fits windows and conservatories, continued to work to complete his outstanding orders.

Britain’s biggest ever EUroMillions winners Joe Thwaite, 49, and wife Jess, 44, from Gloucestershire earlier this month because richer than Adele.

They became the biggest ever winners after bagging a life changing £184 million.

But the couple, who have two primary-aged kids, carried on with their day like normal after realising they had won the EuroMillions.

Communications Sales Engineer Joe, who bought the winning Lucky Dip ticket just hours before the draw, didn’t even wake up his wife after realising the win – waiting for her alarm to go off before whispering to Jess he had a “secret”.

Joe has been married to hairdresser Jess for 11 years and they live in a £600,000 house with ponies, geckos, chickens and dogs.

They celebrated the win with a family meal.
