A LOTTO millionaire has splashed the cash on three houses just 400 yards apart, but there’s a good reason for buying them so close together.

Di Foster, 63, who bagged the £1m jackpot last year, snapped up homes for herself and each of her two daughters Kelly, 28, and Jodie, 24.

She bought properties within a quarter of a mile of one another so that she can easily spend time with her four grandsons.

Di, from Reading, will be running her granny daycare for the young boys throughout the summer holidays to give her daughters a well-earned break.

“Some people might think a summer holiday with four grandsons running in and out of your home is a recipe for chaos, but for me, it’s a dream come true”, said Di.

“I’ve set up the paddling pool and sandpit on my new lawn, and we’ve been exploring in the woods.”

The lucky gran pocketed £1,049,669 in the Lotto’s “Must Be Won” draw in April 2021.

She was in for over £3m but ended up splitting the winnings with two others who had the lucky numbers 16, 24, 29, 30, 32 and 38.

Di, though, was more than content with her payout, calling it a “life-changing moment.”

She recalls how she “burst into tears of joy” when she got the news and now has to pinch herself when she looks at how her life has changed.

“We were spread across Reading and I’d need to catch a bus to see my girls and their boys, and with my poorly knees that wasn’t fun.

“I had a one-bedroom flat with no outside space and certainly nowhere for a sandpit.”

This ordeal meant that after her win “Buying both my girls a house – and one for me, too – became the priority.”

Her daughter Jodie was overjoyed, saying “Mum has always been there for us, but using her win to buy us each a home shows she really is one in a million.

“Kelly and I feel like the real winners as we now own our homes, and that’s something none of us believed could happen just over a year ago.

“And the icing on the cake? Plenty of summer holiday fun with nanny has meant a little peace and quiet for us,”
