The page specialises in home décor and gives readers tips on how to improve their spaces in biweekly posts.

She said “bingeing” YouTube videos on how to run a successful blog was her first step in the right direction.

“YouTube became my resource for everything,” she wrote in a TikTok video on the subject.

Permentier’s next move was to use Pinterest to drive and monetise traffic to the page she had created.

She advised those hoping to do the same that this was best achieved with display ads and affiliate links.

“I followed a tonne of successful creators on Pinterest,” she said.

“And with successful I mean people that I knew for a fact were driving thousands of visitors from Pinterest to their blogs.”

Permentier said the little wins, such as when she made £57 through an affiliate link in one day, should be important to celebrate.

“I felt like I won the jackpot,” she said.

The hard work eventually paid off and Permentier said her traffic and affiliate link revenue exploded.

With the help of an ad agency who paid to show display ads on her blog, Permentier said she made more than £8,200 in a month by March this year.

“Over $9,000 (USD) was from Mediavine (the ad agency) and the rest was from Amazon mostly,” she explained.

“I had some seasonal content that went viral, which pushed my income over the £8,248 ($10k) mark.”

Soon this figure had doubled.

“In August 2023 I had my first £16,496 ($20k) month. This was about 2.5 years into starting my blog,” she said.

“It’s really empowering to build something out of nothing.”

Permentier said she started the blog in November 2020 by spending just £57 on website template and hosting.
