The pair had part-time jobs as bar tenders and kitchen porters while juggling their studies – but Stefan always dreamed of starting a business of his own.

After graduating, Tom and Stefan launched the Bier Company, initially selling bar snacks to pubs.

But, when the pandemic hit in 2020, the pair turned their company into an online shop selling cans of independent and craft brews – and they soared in popularity from there.

Speaking of his company’s humble beginnings, Stefan said: “Myself and Tom came straight out of uni and went into business.

“We did part time jobs before the launch of it.

“In our third year we did bar tending, worked as kitchen porters… you name it. Whatever paid me the most we did.

“I’ve wanted to go into business all my life.”

The pair launched the Bier Company in March 2019 – but things quickly went sour when the Covid-19 pandemic began the following year.

Stefan added: “Boom Covid hit. We lost all of our revenue overnight.

“But within three days we started our e-commerce store.

“And that’s our new story now. From zero to £10million on e-commerce in just two years.

“We rose like a phoenix from the ashes.”

The firm has since been valued at £15million by an independent valuator – and their business is only set to grow from there.

TOP OF THE HOPS

Beer-lover Stefan shared his top tips for Brits keen to sample his sought-after brews.

He said thirsty drinkers should take their time getting the ideal pour.

Stefan also said the can and your glass should make an “Eiffel-tower shape” when pouring – with the two at a 45 degree angle.

But his best advice to thirsty sunseekers this summer was to make sure the can is icy cold.

Stefan founded the Bier Company with his university mate Tom in 2019.

Their online shop sell independent and craft brews from across the UK – along with beer-friendly nuts and crisps to pair with your pint.

It follows the news that a pint now costs more than £4 on average for the first time.

And a pub revealed it is selling what is believed to be Britain’s most expensive beer for £80.15p a pint.
